two days of traveling before Jakarta

August 10, 2011: Leaving the states, I can’t help but think of the people I have shared memories with. I will miss them dearly. I hope to see them all soon. But I can’t help to think with some, is there existence in my life in my life over. Will I see them again? I am scared for what’s to come. But can’t help to think that this journey will make me a stronger human. Embracing every emotion that comes up is the best way to deal with this journey. Though I might miss people it is a far worse thing to miss this opportunity. I am a beautiful strong independent woman who deserves to be loved! I can do this, I will make it and I will succeed!!!! I hope to gain strength in being alone and in centering my priorities, realities and boundaries. These emotions run through me like a river and I embrace each tear with strength.

August 11, 2011: It is the 11 here in China but EARLY morning on the 12th in Jakarta. I am sitting here in a coffee shop in Guangzhou, China airport. Since I did not get a China Visa I have a lovely 9hr layover in the Guangzhou airport. My view as of now from this lovely coffee shop is an inspection line up of all the airport employees it looks pretty official. It is a total culture shock to be in a place where I do not know the main language, but this part of my journey was to be expected. The most confusing thing was the following; so since I did not get a visa for china I was not able to go outside to print my boarding pass, so in turn I received a hand written boarding pass which to me @ the time was super sketchy. I continued on through the security check-point and was led to the flight info services where I was told I must give my passport and hand written boarding pass to a lovely Guangzhou airport employee. Where they then will go downstairs/outside, to print my boarding pass and they needed my passport for that, so now @ 2:15pm china time I will get my passport and printed out boarding pass, the reason why they did this was because I had not gotten a china visa and I needed to wait to get a printed out boarding pass and these can only be printed one hour before the flight. I ended up gathering information on the lady who I gave my passport and sketchy hand written boarding pass to so I will be able to connect with her if all is lost by 2:15pm, just another add on the my adventure. The willingness of people wanting to help you is great hereJ.
