update 8-17-2011

I love living in Jakarta and never thought this city would fit as much as it does, between the Honking non stop, smoking inside, loud Ramadan services, whole families on scooters, wet heat, i couldn't ask for anything better! Life is good, and everyday i feel more and more confident about getting around this crazy city! Life has been good just got back from Cimaja. Went for a surf trip and it was amazing, pictures are posted on FB. I am headed to Bundung on Friday until Sunday with some of my German expat buddiesJ I will then be back in Jakarta until the 24^th of August then I am going to Lumpang. In Lumpang I will be volunteering at an orphanage until the 30^th of August. I start teaching near the end of September and plan to travel around Indonesia until then. Got the job at English First (EF) and am so happy! It includes housing, paying for cars to and from work and also is a year contract making 7.9 million rupiahs for EACH PAY PERIOD :) I would be teaching kids ages 6-10 English i have 4 classes a day each an hour and 20 min and i work from 2-9 Monday –Friday. I also will have the chance to move up within the company and collaborate positively with local schools and help out local organizations. Going to be living in a house with 8 other EF teachers. Living in either Menteng or Sunter it all depends on what school I need me at the end of September. I signed the contract and my work visa is in the process of getting taken care of. It takes up to a month at the moment because since Ramadan is almost over the Indonesian Government takes a month off. I start work Sept. 26, 2011 and will be traveling southeast asia until then!!! Seriously living my dream, i feel so blessed!!!
